Information You Provide
Search-form entries, such as a name, phone number, or address, are sent to the third-party provider that supplies results. Rock Hill Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches on its own servers. When you send a message, the information in that message is used to respond to your inquiry.
Information Logged Automatically
Routine hosting logs may record an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We review that information in aggregate to maintain the service and understand which resources are used. Cookies or similar tools may be used for basic analytics and, when applicable, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to run the service, correct technical problems, measure traffic, and improve the reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
Outside Links and Search Providers
Links may lead to York County, Rock Hill, South Carolina, library, archive, or third-party search services. The privacy terms of the destination service govern information you submit after leaving this site. Sponsored search results are supplied by a third party and are subject to that provider's own practices.
Service Providers and Legal Disclosure
Hosting and support providers may process server logs for us, and analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information is disclosed when required by valid legal process and is not disclosed for other reasons.
Data Safeguards
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described here. Because there are no site accounts, the site does not maintain a visitor password or account profile that could be exposed.
People Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access, correction, or deletion of personal information a website holds. Research for South Carolina did not identify a comprehensive state data-broker erasure law that grants a universal deletion right. Because Rock Hill Residents Directory keeps little visitor information, a request generally involves checking the contact mailbox and available server logs, then removing information found there. Use the Contact page to make a request.
Public records held by South Carolina, York County, or Rock Hill are controlled by their respective custodians, not by this site. South Carolina's Freedom of Information Act, S.C. Code Ann. §§ 30-4-10 through -165, governs access to public-body records and allows exemptions or redactions, including under § 30-4-40. A request about a government record should be sent to the holding office; this policy does not promise removal of an unsealed public record.
Policy Changes
Updates to this policy will appear here. Continued use of the service after a posted update means that you accept the revised policy.
